This series of paintings are all 100cm square and full of rich blues and thick impasto work, so the painting changes with the light.  If you would like a version just for you, let me know.

This series of work is many things at once.  Firstly, they’re textual pieces, with contrasting brushwork which engages the eye. I like creating art that holds the gaze and lets the observer explore. They’re also contrasting in an emotional aspect, the rough and the smooth we live with. Blue is an emotional colour - it can mean serenity but it is also a word we use to describe depression. It can be the sky with its smoothness and the sea with its chop. In these pieces, I sought to bring those elements together, physically and emotionally.
