Painted on a commission basis for a private collector.

 

My inspiration:

I used impasto to indicate the change of environs. The sky, influenced by Turner, has over two dozen layers, the idea being to create a feeling of the viewer being drawn into both a scene and a journey of their own.

When the light changes you can see at various times urban landscape, moutains and reflections.

 

Due to the size of the artwork, the canvas is fitted with a crossbar for extra stability in both directions, and is a 345gsm Claessens linen canvas with a medium-fine surface.
